About Me

n39105237_32349464_59463Hello! My name is Amanda Kozma and I’m a senior public relations major at Kent State University.

What Sparked the PR Girl Within

imagesI had an event planning internship at the Summa Foundation this summer where I helped plan fund raising events, but my love for event planning came long before that experience. For as long as I can remember, I have always helped to plan different types of events; whether it was a school play, dance or meeting, it has been something I’ve always enjoyed doing. I’m just a planner, and I always have been. When I got to college, I discovered my passion for writing and entered Kent State’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication. I combined my love for writing and event planning, which set me out on my educational journey entering the field of public relations. And here I am now, still on track and hoping to graduate with a degree in public relations in May.

While school and work consume most of my time and energy, I still try to enjoy my life. When I get stressed, I love going running. There’s nothing like a hard run with my iPod blasting some old-school Britney Spears songs to help clear my head. I plan to eventually write a novel about my life experiences because I am prone to bizarre and unusual situations that often result in entertaining humiliation. I have an obsession with fashion, which results in me spending too much time and money shopping for things I don’t need and can’t afford. I want to explore all types of event planning, but if I had the opportunity, I’d love to move to New York City and work in the fashion industry.

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only.Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”

-Coco Chanel

I’m taking a Public Relations Online Tactics class at Kent State to help guide me on my first experience through the blogosphere. I hope to someday have a career in event planning and public relations, so I thought this blog would be a great way for me to start my transition from a college student into a working professional.

Very well done. I’m not sure I’ll be a twitter person, however I know it is growing in popularity.

Keep up the good work. I am proud of you.
